Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has welcomed the Consul General of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Lagos, Salem Aljaberi, in a meeting centred on strengthening bilateral relations and identifying fresh avenues for investment and economic cooperation.

The meeting brought together two key figures to discuss the prospects for expanding business and investment links between Nigeria and the UAE, with particular attention to opportunities that could create greater value for both countries.

Rabiu described the visit as a significant engagement and praised Aljaberi for his efforts to foster closer relations between Nigeria and the UAE.

The BUA chairman said the discussions provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on emerging opportunities and the potential for increased collaboration between the two nations.

He expressed confidence that the relationship between Nigeria and the UAE would continue to deepen, stressing that stronger ties could produce lasting economic benefits for businesses, governments and citizens in both countries.

Rabiu also expressed appreciation to the UAE diplomat for the visit and his continued efforts to build stronger connections between the two countries.

The engagement comes as BUA Group continues to expand its role across several critical sectors of the Nigerian economy. The diversified conglomerate has significant interests spanning cement, food production, manufacturing, agriculture and infrastructure, with its operations contributing to employment, industrial development and local supply chains.

Two of its major subsidiaries, BUA Cement and BUA Foods, are publicly listed on the Nigerian Exchange and have maintained strong financial performances, reflecting the scale of the group's activities and its contribution to Nigeria's productive sector.

Beyond the immediate interests of BUA Group, the meeting highlights the broader potential for deeper economic engagement between Nigeria and the UAE. Both countries maintain important commercial relationships, with opportunities existing across investment, manufacturing, infrastructure, trade and other areas of economic activity.

For Rabiu, stronger Nigeria-UAE relations could help unlock additional opportunities for businesses and investors while supporting broader economic development.

The BUA chairman said he remained optimistic about the future of the bilateral relationship and looked forward to seeing cooperation between Nigeria and the UAE translate into greater prosperity and tangible benefits for their respective economies and people.
