Sir: After a tour of the second Lekki tollgate and the alternative route by members of our executive, the African Renaissance Party (ARP), Lagos, demands postponing tolling at the Lekki second tollgate as scheduled to commence from December 16, 2012, till March 2013 and 50 per cent reduction in fees.

Our view is premised on the fact that the economy within the state is debilitating while the alternative route is in the similitude of the road from Jerusalem to Jericho, where even a Good Samaritan can be ambushed from the nearby bush, particularly in the wee hours, thereby forcing high patronage of the tollgate.

The burden of movement with the Eti-Osa local government area axis should be a huge concern for any government and political party that cares for its people.

Udoka Udeogaranya,

 Chairman, ARP.
