Why EU Banned Nigerian Food Exporters - NAFDAC

News

The recent ban of some Nigerian food items by the European Union is caused by exporters who fail to comply with regulatory requirements for export, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has said.

The agency made the explanation in its Facebook page on Monday.

In the short explanation, the agency said: "NAFDAC has before now put in place regulatory requirements for semi-processed and processed commodities so as to help exporters get their products approved in the International markets.

The organisation said: "The failure of most exporters to take advantage of this platform of having their products meet internationally acceptable standards before exporting them have led to this sad development.

"NAFDAC helps free of charge those looking to export food products from Nigeria to International markets so their products won't be rejected.

"If you are an exporter of food items or looking to export food items from Nigeria, contact NAFDAC for free help on how to best process and package your product."
